Basketry is experiencing a resurgence in popularity, and enjoying an exciting comeback at the hands of a new and dynamic generation of makers who are not afraid to experiment with mixing materials and techniques.
Through a series of step-by-step projects this practical guide provides all the information for learning the basics and the inspiration for getting started on designing and creating your own original basketry. Although based on traditional techniques, this book opens the door to an exciting, contemporary, mixed-media approach to basketry.
Stella Harding has been making baskets since 2001. Growing, gathering and making in an urban context, without a garden of one’s own, is a passion she is keen to share with others. Stella has exhibited her basketry widely across Europe, and most recently at the Barbican Library and Metre Square Gallery in London.
